Monica Raymund was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida as the daughter of Steve and Sonia Raymund. After graduating the Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, Florida, Raymund attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she graduated for the acting course. During her school period, she has won the John Houseman Award for Commitment and Dedication to the Development of Young American Actors.
Raymund spent her summers during high school participating in the Broadway Theater Project in Tampa and at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. At Shorecrest, she acted in musical productions such as Crazy for You and The King and I, and she credits Bill Leavengood with paving the way for her current success.
Raymund has played in many musicals during her school period. After her graduation at the Julliard School, Monica guest-starred on the 200th episode of Law & Order: SVU. After that, she was cast to appear on Lie To Me as Ria Torres. Raymund is now starring as Gabriela Dawson on the NBC series Chicago Fire.
